Painting with a Purpose

Painting with a Purpose is a Sober Social event that encourages self expression and creativity through painting. This event will be a safe place for all guest in and out of recovery to come and enjoy and afternoon of inclusive fun without the temptation to want to indulge in substances.

Never been to a Paint experience? No Problem!

Here's what you can expect.

NO PRIOR EXPEREINCE NEEDEDYou don’t need to know a single thing about painting prior to showing up. Our instructor will talk you through everything you need to know, from how to mix paint colors to what sort of brush strokes to use. Want to customize your painting? They'll help you with that, too! 

YOU DON'T NEED TO BRING ANYTHING. Tickets are paid for in advance, and we provide 100% of your painting supplies, Canvas,  Food & Drinkware, cutlery, and Refreshments, so you don’t have to show up with anything besides a good attitude and an expectation to enjoy yourself! 

THERE'S A PAINT-FREE SPACE FOR REFRESHMENTS. Don’t worry about dripping paint on your snack plate! The Joyful Expressions studio has a counter or table to accommodate food, bottles, plates, etc. Your painting table will have enough space for wine glasses and snack plates, and people get up throughout the class to go back for seconds. Your instructor will also provide you with intermittent breaks so you can top off without missing a brushstroke. 

THIS EVENT IS 18+ The overwhelming majority of our attendees are over 25 years old. Painters have to be at least 18y/o to attend this experience as we don’t allow unaccompanied minors. Joyful Expressions studio is a fresh, creative space where adults can unwind and be carefree. 

CLASSES ARE 2-3 HOURS LONG. The length of our Paint experience will be 2-3hrs. Our instructor is dedicated to making sure each individual person is able complete their painting without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. You'll have plenty of time to bring your artwork to life. 

PREPARE TO SHOW UP 30 MINUTES EARLY. Most painters show up early to get their food and beverages set up, and enjoy a bit of downtime with their friends before the painting officially begins. We start right on time! The Instructor will begin promptly at 3:00pm. Suggested arrival time is 2:30pm.   We look forward to seeing you at "Painting With A Purpose," a sober social experience.
